22 تشرين الثاني 1943:
لبنان يحصل على إستقلاله من فرنسا وبشارة الخوري يتولى الرئاسة وقد تّميز تاريخ لبنان منذ الإستقلال بتقلبات سياسية متكررة وفترات من الإستقرار و التزعزع المتوالية.
1989- إغتيال رئيس الجمهورية اللبنانية رينيه معوض بسيارة مفخخة في أحد شوارع بيروت بعد مشاركته بحفل عيد الإستقلال ،أي بعد سبعة عشر يوماً من إنتخابه و بعد خروجه من القصر الحكومي المؤقت في منطقة الصنائع.
1989 – النواب اللبنانيون يصادقون على إتفاق الطائف. هو إتفاق تم التوصل إليه بوساطة المملكة العربية السعودية في مدينة الطائف، وقد أنهى هذا الإتفاق الحرب الأهلية اللبنانيةوحضره 62 نائباً لبنانياً من أصل 99 تغيب منهم ثمانية نواب وإرتبط اسم ثلاث نواب بالمقاطعة لأسباب سياسية وهم ريمون إده ،ألبير مخيبر وأميل روحانا صقر.
